I have been stricken with creative blocks. Perhaps it is the six pairs of failed slippers or the 8 mismatched gloves. I think I will just take a break from making something that must have a match.

Today is too lovely to stay inside, but hopefully soon, I will get my groove back.

My friend Katie and I get together about once a week with the intention of knitting/crocheting. Well... today we started our day with a field trip to Fabric Depot. I found some fantastic yarn that I am going to make fingerless mittens out of. I have been having a bit of a block... but these new purchases have inspired me.

I found buttons!!

After our field trip we stopped at Por Que No for lunch. Tacos. Yum. Margaritas. Yum. Somehow(I cant even imagine why... wait, I mentioned the margaritas, right?) our good knitting intentions end up equating to fabulous social time, but not much to show for it. I am going to make up for it right now and crank out a pair of those mittens!

Would it be cliche to call these bootie-licious?

I made these for Alison to give her coworker, Dorothy. Dorothy decided not to find out if it was a boy or a girl and I thought this yarn could work with either. I was pretty happy with how my very first booties turned out.

I made these and gave them to my friend Robyn for her birthday.

Ready... set... go!

I am not sure why I have had such a mental block about getting internet at home. But I finally did it. Last Thursday I called and I spoke to a lovely gentleman and we signed me up. The computer at home is all connected and I am just anxiously awaiting my introduction package to arrive in the mail. (If I had been thinking about it, I should have just gone and picked everything up.)I have enjoyed my little vacation. Mostly from Facebook. I dont know that I really need that on my Blackberry. I think I have decided that it really just ends up taking me out of the moments that I am actually in.

But yay for internet at home... without filters or blocks or forbidden pages!

This is the week that I kick everything off for reals.
